Programs

More than five days a week Loaves and Fishes opens its food pantry doors in Maryland Heights and St. Charles to seniors, the homeless, less fortunate low-income families and those on disability. Patrons of our food pantry are able to pick up enough food, including fresh fruit and vegetables, canned and dry goods, and meat, to fight off hunger for at least another week.

Our current programs include:

Shelter - Loaves and Fishes provides a warm bed, a roof, clothes, food, and restoration services to at least 30 homeless women and children seven days a week. It is our mission to provide a safe and warm environment to those women and children in need while offering them a hopeful future through enrollment in restoration services including, but certainly not limited to: on-site visits from the St. Louis County's Department of Health Services nurse, domestic violence counseling, educational programs, including budgeting and career development as well as mental health counseling services.

Housing - It is our goal to assist those who seek to remove themselves from the shelter system and begin the path towards independence. This is accomplished by helping in the search for independent housing, referrals to the section 8 program, referrals to Continuum of Care Transitional Housing, or if eligible referrals to the Continuum of Care Permanent Supportive Housing Program.
