Because We All Deserve a Home

Housing is more than a roof overhead — it’s the foundation for everything else. When people have a safe, stable place to live, they’re better able to work, learn, heal, and care for their families. Stable housing strengthens individuals and communities. Because when everyone has a place to call home, we all thrive.

Together, We Open the Door to Hope

At Loaves and Fishes for St. Louis, every day is an opportunity to bring hope to families facing crisis. Last year, with the help of compassionate supporters like you, we provided emergency shelter to more than 600 families60% of them children—and served nearly 600,000 meals through our food pantry. Of those meals, 87% nourished senior citizens struggling to make ends meet.

But the numbers tell only part of the story. Behind every meal, every night of shelter, and every word of encouragement is a community of people who believe in second chances. We believe that a miracle can start with one call, one open door, or one act of kindness.

Your partnership makes that possible. When you give or volunteer, you’re helping families rebuild stability, restoring dignity, and renewing hope across St. Louis.

Join us—because your compassion opens doors.

EASTER FOOD DISTRIBUTION

Easter celebrates resurrection, hope, and new life—promises that are especially meaningful for families facing hunger or homelessness. Providing food during Easter is a tangible expression of Christ’s love, meeting urgent needs while affirming the God-given dignity of every person. In a season centered on renewal, Easter food distribution helps restore hope and reminds individuals and families that they are valued, seen, and not defined by their circumstances.

Together, We Build Futures

Each of our programs is a vital part of our mission — to serve, empower, and walk alongside our neighbors as they work toward stability and independence. At Loaves and Fishes, we see every act of service as an investment in our community's future.

Through compassion, collaboration, and dedication, we are transforming lives — one family, one meal, and one new beginning at a time.

Emergency Shelter for Families: A Safe Place to Start Again

Our emergency shelter gives families experiencing homelessness a safe place to rest, eat, and regain stability during a difficult time. Families receive daily meals and individualized case management, along with compassionate, wraparound support that helps them address immediate needs and plan for what comes next. Every parent and child is welcomed with dignity and respect, creating space to breathe, rebuild, and move forward with renewed hope.

Food Pantry: Keeping Families Nourished and Hope Alive

Food is a basic need—and a powerful way to show care. Our on-site food pantry operates five days a week, making sure that families in crisis have reliable access to healthy, nutritious food.

Each year, we serve more than 11,800 individuals facing food insecurity. In the past year alone, we have distributed nearly 600,000 meals, including fresh produce, meats, dairy products, and baby essentials. Behind each of those meals is a story of resilience—and a reminder that when a community comes together, no one has to face hunger alone.

Prevention: Preventing Homelessness Before It Starts

The most effective way to end homelessness is to prevent it. Through rental assistance, case management, and landlord advocacy, we help families avoid eviction and remain safely housed—preserving dignity, stability, and stronger communities.

Where They Are: Building Trust, Restoring Dignity, Creating Pathways Home

Our mission doesn’t stop at our doors—it reaches people in the streets, encampments, and hidden places where too many are forced to survive. We meet unsheltered neighbors where they are, offering essential supplies, compassionate care, and connections to housing and health services. By meeting urgent needs and building trust, we help create a path toward stability and hope.

Be Part of the Solution

At Loaves and Fishes, we believe that lasting change starts when a community unites with purpose. From our signature events to seasonal initiatives, every effort brings us closer to making sure no one faces a crisis alone. Your time, energy, and participation aren’t just contributions—they’re investments in hope, dignity, and the future of our community. I invite you to stand with us and be part of the solution.
