From Evicted to Embraced: Rhonda’s New Beginning at 94
This month, Loaves and Fishes had the opportunity to serve Rhonda, a 94-year-old senior in crisis. We were contacted by a St. Louis County Council member and the Deputy Director of St. Louis County Homeless Services, after she was evicted from her apartment and found herself without a safe place to stay.
Thanks to the support of our donors, we were able to provide Rhonda with a hotel stay for 8 days. During that time, our team connected her with Senior Services. Through that connection, Rhonda was accepted into a permanent living situation at an assisted living facility. Today, Rhonda is very happy in her new home — and she asked us to share her heartfelt thanks with the donors who made it all possible.
💛 Why It Matters
For vulnerable seniors like Rhonda, support in moments of crisis means more than shelter—it restores dignity, provides stability, and opens the door to a new beginning.
Your generosity made it possible for Rhonda to move from eviction to a safe, permanent home. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making stories like hers possible.
