Community Outreach
The Coordinated Entry Services and Street Outreach program greatly improves our collective impact and promotes effective communication among stakeholders, including law enforcement, St. Louis County Government, other local municipalities, local businesses, outreach organizations, and community members. Our goal extends beyond immediate shelter needs; we aim to foster long-term stability for our clients by connecting them with essential community resources. When shelter space is unavailable, our team is committed to helping clients find alternative programs, making sure no one is left without access to vital resources.
Coordinated Entry
Loaves and Fishes for St. Louis operates as one of only four sanctioned access points within the St. Louis County Continuum of Care (CoC). We facilitate referrals to various emergency shelters, housing projects, sober living facilities, treatment programs, and mental health support.
Walk-In Services
Our services encompass risk frailty assessments and the placement of individuals on the St. Louis County Coordinated Entry List, which includes pathways to Rapid Rehousing, Permanent Supportive Housing, and Main Stream Housing Vouchers. We extend our outreach to groups lacking access to the homeless service database system, such as school districts, and ensure that essential needs—like food, hygiene products, shower facilities, and laundry services—are met. Our outreach team collaborates closely with the St. Louis County Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) to ensure the unhoused population living on the streets receives these vital resources.
